Principal’s Welcome

Mrs. Paula McClain

Principal

Mississippi School for the Deaf is elated to introduce Mrs. Paula McClain as our new Principal! Mrs. McClain has been in education for more than 24 years and has taught at every grade level from Pre-K through 12th grade. Paula and her family have been in Mississippi now for ten years after serving many years in Texas. Mrs. McClain graduated from Lamar University in Educational Administration with an undergraduate degree from The University of North Texas. She comes to us from Rankin County School District where she was a teacher leader who served in planning and leading district-wide professional development for over 100 staff members in her department on a regular basis. She has always worked closely with the special education departments on every campus where she has worked. Mrs. McClain has been hard of hearing all of her life and began wearing hearing aids and learning sign language at the age of 10. Welcome to the Bulldog family, Paula!
